Life Coaching for Teens
What is teen life coaching?
As you well know, teens are dealing with A LOT! Being yourself has never been so complicated. Stress, developing healthy self-confidence, tons of schoolwork, lack of (or too much!) motivation, gap-year considerations, social media demands, digital reliance, isolation, substance use, body issues, navigating relationships, and on and on and on.
How we’ll work together
When we work together, your teen and I will develop a unique relationship where they can uncover an inner compass from their own strength and calm. Discovering their own resources! My job is to listen—deeply—and become their guide and champion. Because here’s the secret:
Believing in your ability has an enormous impact on one’s actual ability, a key foundation for anyone who wants to change or make progress. It's kind of like the "fake it 'til you make it" idea. I work with teens to turn up the volume of the voice that believes they have the ability and turn down the nob of Dr. Doubt. We give him too much authority!
And if you had to boil down my “job” with your teen, it’s to help them discover their competence and confidence so they can move smoothly forward into young adulthood.
My approach is holistic, integrating tools for self-awareness, cultivating intuition, refining emotional language, establishing healthy boundaries, distinguishing between reactivity and response, and identifying how values are leveraged in addressing obstacles.
Your teen and I work together to set some goals, create action steps to get there, as well as agree on accountability strategies that will help them confidently navigate the choices before them with self-efficacy.
Clarity and perspective often require a mindful shift and a space to allow that to happen, and I see a need for more individualized attention to nurture this development.
-
Gives them a sense of well-being and agency

Establishes concrete actions they can take with an accountability partner
-
Gives you tools to reinforce the support your teen is getting in coaching
Fosters a deeper connection with your kid
Provides insights you might never have learned from them directly
My Coaching Plans
Teen-Only Coaching Plan
Coaching can help with stress, motivation, self confidence, schoolwork, substance use, body issues, relationships, and many other adolescent issues.
This two-month plan is perfect for a teen who’s identified some of these (or other) pain points they want to address. They’re ready to focus and do the self-inquiry work needed to move forward with ease.
I will customize this plan for your teen’s unique needs. It includes:
8 coaching sessions with your teen—virtual or in-person in my San Francisco office—once a week (45 min each)
Teens can send me unlimited texts and emails
Teen + Parent Coaching Plan
With this four-month plan, I’ll work both with the teen and the parents to delve into what’s working, what’s not, and discover ways to build resilience and self-esteem. Working together, we’ll set clear objectives to help them move forward into young adulthood with more optimism, excitement, and ease.
This plan will be customized for your family and includes:
3 parent coaching sessions (45-minutes)
8 teen coaching sessions (45 minutes, virtual or in-person) twice a month
Teens can send me unlimited texts and emails
“I partner with young adults who want more emotional balance and confidence. Working together, they regain clarity, purpose, and equanimity.”
—Coach Cheryl
“Even when working with very resistant students, Cheryl is able to create relationships built on trust and mutual respect.”
Cheryl is an incredible educator that works tirelessly with students to help them reach their fullest potential. One of my 9th grade students has struggled to engage this year but since being in Cheryl’s class he has attended her class and even spoken positively about the work in the class.”
